Personally, I would use a combination. In some ads, link directly to an SFI gateway and in other ads, link to a page or post on your blog that talks about your SFI business.
Since SFI is a team-building business, it's a relationship business and your blog will help your readers and visitors get to know, like and trust you first before asking them to sign up in a business opportunity.
You can share your tips for success on your blog, from your personal experiences, in a way that SFI can not do. So in that way, your blog is a personal gateway that allows people to get to know you first and get to know a little more about SFI in a very subtle way.
Meanwhile, you can have other advertising out there working for you that links directly to an SFI landing page.
I believe the combination is a lot more beneficial.
