When you go shopping, what grabs your attention...look and think about what I just ask. You will be surprised.
You must get their attention and how you do that is find out what they are looking for, what they need, then fill that need and bingo! you have a new recruit.
If you cannot fill their need, you might as well quit wasting your time and theirs...
You don't fill their need with a bunch of words about how great we are....you find what they are looking for and address your presentation from that point.
EXAMPLE: If I approached you trying to sell you baby diapers, and you had no babies, you would not be interested. The same goes for the prospects you are trying to find...don't advertise in places where people are looking to meet boyfriends or girlfriends, look for people who are looking for work, people who are out of work, people who are retired, stay at home moms, college students, etc. the list can go on and on..you get my drift...
Give them a short intro...something snappy, something that will get their attention. Look in the marketing area of SFI and you will find plenty of short snappy things to say..keep it simple, is the key...whet their appetite...so that they want to hear more...then you settle in for the details, but first you have to get their attention.
An old farmer once went out to plow his fields, he grabbed a 2 x 4 and hit his mule up side the head, his son ask why did you do that, he said son, you have to get his attention first, then he will do what you want him to.
I don't suggest a 2 x 4 but I do suggest you get their attention immediately, if not you will lose them immediately!
