Hello Alma,
As you know there are a plethora of advertising campaigns but we can summarize them into:
Text Ad Campaigns
Image Ad Campaigns
Video Ad Campaigns
And the combination of any of the above.
Each has its pros and cons, each has to be targeted according to who is viewing the campaign, and more specifically, where these campaigns are being broadcasted.
When the target and the niche are well specified, you will come to know with more precision how much information you can have in the campaign. Let me explain with a brief example:
If you have a blog and you are placing a banner (Image Ad Campaign) for SFI inside your blog you may not have much information to add to the banner except on the blog post itself. Will the post be about SFI? its benefits? its rewards? Then they can compliment each other.
On the other hand if your banner is being displayed in another person's blog, it will be very hard to have the post "agree" with your banner unless you are using a service that allows to put advertisements that are about specific topics. These kind of services exist and are extremely powerful, take google adwords for example, very powerful. Another example would be Text Ad Exchanges where you can place text ads into specific categories.
My specific way of advertising is by giving away more information to people on how to earn money online. I have made information products and offer them for free, people subscribe to my list through a sign up form and then I start to help them grow their business. That way they can see results while helping me grow my business too! Win-Win!
With my information products I can control how much information I add, I use less information on my ads but very precise for the niche I selected and then in the report that I give away, I explain things thoroughly, giving step by step instructions and being available for them as they read the documents I send.
I hope this clarifies a bit.
Have a great day!
