The (good) communication is one of the KEYS of our success in this business. It should be continual and addressed to all.Especially to those who are working in our team.
Now,about effective ways of communication - it depends where the person is (is it your neighbor, next door?Or is it "next" continent?).
If someone's,say, from your area (your country/city/town/neighborhood) common way is to hear by telephone (home phone or nowadays mobile phone). It's easy, cheap and common way of communication.Or you can use phone to invite that person to your home (face to face contact is even better). In direct conversation you can easily discuss and arrange all the necessary things.
If downline member is from another country (or another continent),then I prefer communication via internet.Traditional ways (by phone or by writing letters) are mostly abandoned in favor of modern ways of communication. Here, you can choose between several choices:online chat (here,on SFI,or on Facebook or using other chat platforms),Skype (program for voice calls or video calls from your computer, tablet or mobile phone, that also includes online chat),e-mail (exchanging digital messages - mails) and internet forum (message board,or discussion board,is online discussion site with conversation in form of posted messages),blog (web site, where you can leave messages,so that other can see it and/or discuss it - in the form of comments).
Since direct conversation with mostly prompt responses (chat,Skype) has advantage then usually non-so-prompt (e-mail,forum),then it is more effective one.By effective I mean the one that is quicker and has ofcourse accurate information.
However, from definition of "effective" ("successful in producing a desired or intended result") you can see it may be any of these ways of communication.Someone may be expert in writing e-mails or (long) forum posts, more then quick-chat-writing what first comes to someone's mind.Others prefer chat (especially younger generations),because of it's promptness.
If you are used to "work" with chat-based conversation, then OK,go ahead and use Skype or other "speedy exchanging information/conversation" programs (e.g. chat on Facebook is pretty popular).Usually, you can see when someone is online (here,in SFI,on the mover's tab or in Genealogy,if there's a yellow cloud next to person's name it means he or she is online),contact that persons and start exchanging of informations. It is mostly suitable for quick and short questions and answers ("how you're doing today","how to do...this or that",etc.) and/or to congratulate your team members on well done work and achievements ("hey, you've become Fast track member, congratulations!").
If you are into more detailed solutions, then e-mail,internet forum or blog can be your choice. There you can widely describe how and what you were intended to do,step by step.
So,the bottom line here is:the most effective way of communication is the one that you're specialized for or for what are you used to work with.
