There are actually many ways. Because each person is different and from their own culture, time zone and speaks their own language I believe we must get creative with out communication.
Of course E-cards are a great way to pass along a quick tip, welcome or offering congratulations when you great new team members or check your mover's VP ledger. I try to keep a translation page open so that I can communicate in their language.
Skype is a great way to communicate with team members who speak your language.
Genealogy is a great way to send group tips in specific languages to targeted generation, levels or type of team member be it PSA's or CSA's.
Social media is a great way to communicate as well as network. What we do can be emulated buy our team, such as posting a vendors TripleClicks item for commission and congratulating a team member on advancement winnings and success. With different time zones, I find this an awesome way to communicate.
Good old fashioned email tend to be a common way for my affiliates to contact me as well. Again, I try to use translation pages to make it easier on the affiliate to understand offering my favorite link I use so they can use it themselves.
For a large group of team members there are meeting sights you pay money monthly for and some are now free though limited. This is a great way to bring people onto your sight and teach them what you do that makes you successful. Team members can chat with you and ask question live or be muted until after your presentation.
Some people make You Tube presentations for their team members. This is great but limited to the language you speak. But I have been known to send some of my team members to You Tube to find a presentation in their language about a certain program SFI provides.
Finally there's texting and telephone calls. Time zone's make this one challenging for some.
Your comfort zone and theirs will ultimately decide what form you use and when.
