Being in the online advertising industry for several years as well as being a member of numerous Safelists and Text Ad Exchanges, I can honestly say that of these 2, Text Ad Exchanges are by far, the best choice.
The reasons are:
1) Several types of ads are available to you: banners, text ads, hotlinks, traffic links, login ads, solo ads. Most offer new members a free adpak that will include all of the above.
2) Members are double opt-in and therefore agree to receive your solo ads, thus preventing spam
3) All solo ads are sent to ALL members of the Text Ad Exchange
4) All ads you put through, will show you the number of clicks each banner, solo ad, etc receives
5) Most Text Ad Exchanges offer a variety of Network Super Solos (which you can purchase) and are sent to several Text Ad Exchanges, Safelists and mailers and ALL Their members. In other words, your super network solo will go out to thousands of members and have a high rate of clicks.
For those who advertise, you should use all types of online advertising: Text Ad Exchanges, Safelists and mailers, Adboards, Traffic Exchanges etc. Do not limit yourself! The only one I avoid are PTC (pay to click) as the members of those sites are not looking for business opportunities.
