The first thing you should do after getting to intimately know the business is to form some kind of plan for growing your business. Whether you start local or globally, I would emphasize the local Campaign.
Why? Because you will have more control over how it is run, and how your local team functions. The local list of prospects is not as limited as some want to believe. It not only includes your friends and family, but also the people in your area, and those outside your area within the radius of how far you are willing to drive to meet with them.
It also includes the businesses that you frequent, and those that you have not frequented in the past. Again this includes those that are within your driving distance, and those that are where you like to visit or vacation.
The goal here is to not only build a local group, but also to refer local ECAs that will supply those PSAs that you bring in from the area. More locals buying from more ECA = more commissions for you.
If you are well respected, begin with friends and family. If not, begin with strangers. I'm sure you have many possibilities in each group.
