As a trainer I was always taught that if criticism was required it should be served in a sandwich.
This sandwich should be made by first praising the individual, then putting in the criticism, (in a soft a way as possible while making the necessary point(s)). This was immediately followed by more praise.
I found this to be a very useful guide in dishing out criticism without offending or upsetting the one receiving the rebuke.
But do we as sponsors really need to criticize anybody. I read some of the forum questions and think how stupid, and then I remember when I first started and found it easier for someone to give me a short explanation before reading through all the relevant material. We are supposed to be helping those in our downline, and criticism is not always the best way to go.
We have to cope with language difficulties as, to different people the meanings of some words change. Those who don't have English as a first language often misunderstand the meaning of words that are used. This is not to criticize either the reader or the writer but just to point out inconsistencies.
We should instead be looking to advise those who we feel they are doing something incorrectly. Perhaps we should suggest to the one who is doing things incorrectly another way of doing the exercise. Perhaps we could just send a tip out in our weekly mailings to everyone in our downline suggesting a method we have found that will do something more efficiently, or quicker.
