First off I don't normally say great question but this one is exceptional.
For me personally I try to spend at least 1 hour doing my daily task and contributing to the forum each day. Often I spend more than that because in addition to developing my personal brand and building strong relationships with my peers it teaches me to be a better leader and keeps me in practice of being helpful to others.
Along the way I learn something new every day, which gives me even more great things to share.
I spend at least twice what I do inside SFI in marketing my business by building social media connections and writing new blog post for one of my blogs or social profiles. Every piece of content created is a new door into my shop that feeds my business with traffic. I also spend some of that time reading post and learning trends and new information from thousands of peers.
I spend a bit of time creating advertising.
Most don't know that Advertising and Marketing are two different things but advertisement is like saying here I am and marketing is educating people about who we are. You can't build a relationship through a banner or single e-mail, on a classified ad site, or on a billboard but you can bring interested people into your place of business to learn more about you, your business, your products.
I spend maybe 15% and sometimes 20% of my day advertising and at least twice that nurturing these new relationships through social gatherings, blog post, newsletters, and training events. That's marketing and it's more important than any advertisement because ads do not build trust or expand knowledge.
