Just say that you welcome him/her back and offer your assistance when they need it. Explain that there have been many changes since the last time the affiliate logged in. Be patient and help him/hher start at the beginning again, if needed. Just encourage the affiliate to take whatever time is necessary to learn how to use all the new tools here and to get acquainted with the new affiliates who have joined during the time he/she was absent.
Do not judge the person or the reason why the long absence occurred. Do not bring up the subject.
