Should I encourage or discourage my PSAs who want to become Team Leaders right away?
You have picked a great subject line for your question. “To be or - Not to be” I believe that every excited affiliate that sees the possibilities with SFI and TripleClicks to have a great income that can turn them financially free wants to get to the top as soon as possible.
As team leaders we must evaluate the circumstances that the new affiliate is in at the present time so we can give them the proper answer. We would not want to encourage something that can hurt the new affiliates desires or dreams. Nor do we want to encourage something that they may not be able to handle as of yet.
When a new affiliate asks me if it is a good thing to press on to the BTL (Bronze Team Leader) position? The first thing I do is praise the affiliate for having the desire to reach out to the Bronze level. Then I ask them one simple question:
How much are you willing to invest to make and keep the Bronze level at this stage of your business activities?
Once this question is asked and they have given you an honest answer you will know how to direct the new affiliate.
If they answer that they want to do this without any investment then they need to know that they can reach that level in their first month or even in the second month. But come the dreaded third month what is going to happen?
Without any money invested there will be no way for them to maintain the Bronze level so they will lose their CSAs given to them in the first month and second month. You just might lose that affiliate.
With the above answer received from your affiliate I would encourage his positive drive and show the affiliate how to do it properly by building up a team and taking time in learning how to gain the most from their home business with SFI and TripleClicks.
If on the other hand the new affiliate can honestly answer your question about maintaining that level without having a team first then by all means encourage the affiliate and show the affiliate how to accomplish their desire.
I am a Bronze team leader and have been for several months now – personally I do not have a strong enough team to keep me at that level without investing finances in my business. Should I be held back because of inactive affiliates? NO – the perks and pay is worth the extra investment.
One word of caution – don’t use language with the word “discourage” in it when talking to new affiliates just “encourage” them to take the route that you as a team leader has suggested for him/her.
Remember “never” quench a small fire – but fan it to greater heights!
