A maximum 100 bids is a good start to enter into the auto-bidder, depending on the popularity of the product. The more popular the product the higher your bids should be entered.
You shouldn't activate the auto-bidder until no one use it anymore, otherwise you only pushing the price up rapidly.
And according to my experience, using the auto-bidder in a Double MRP auction is not effective because so many bidders enter just for collecting MRP.
