Success to some is different than success to others.
I personally see success in the number of people I can help to do better in their business. It's why I am very active in the forums and always pack my team mail with training, and my stream post with solid business tips.
I am like that on every site I am on so I technically spend more time teaching than I do advertising but when you do that it's called marketing so my business wins anyhow.
I count success in the number of customers served. From my ECA Store clients to my Personally Referred Members I value bringing value to their shopping dollar and hope to touch each with great customer service.
I count success in the things I learn in a month. Did I learn at least one new thing or new method a day? If I did, that teaching done in the first part gets a lot easier to do.
I measure success in terms of impact on my family. If I was able to devote more time to our 7 kids and my loving wife and be there for things I would have missed in a 9 to 5 world, then I am a success at being a dad and husband.
I measure success in dollars as getting closer to having enough. I don't need excess, and riches, but I need enough to pay the rent, cover the bills, feed the kids, and maybe even save some for retirement. Each day I operate my business I get closer to having enough and that's a far cry from being flat broke last November.
This year my biggest goal is to not go a 3rd year without being able to buy at least one gift for each of my children at Christmas. I have done broke for as much of my life as most will do in two lifetimes and I had success and learned valuable lessons about not putting aside for a rainy day and a bad economy.
Success is learning from my mistakes and arrogance and building something that will last this time around.
