In my opinion both are effective only when the person issued with a gift card makes use of it.
TC Gift Card is a great way to promote TripleClicks. It can be distributed online to friends and families that you have an e-mail of. And in person is a good way too as the person receiving it gets a verbal instruction as to how to use it some times yes you can just hand it to them as they may not have time to discuss about it nevertheless the instructions on the card is very clear.
The question here is will that person use it? I have distributed some but until today none of them has used them, so it will only be effective if that person appreciates such a gift and uses it. We can do our part and expect the very best from the receivers side. Good to send reminders once in a while.
