I believe that the one thing you can offer them is a successful mentor who is ready to assist them in their quest to be successful as well!
What does this mentorship consist of:
1) Sharing your knowledge and experience: Your successes (and failures)
2) Listening to each associate and getting to know them. What makes them tick, what are their strengths, weaknesses, tendencies.
3) Helping each affiliate to set up a plan that employs their strengths while allowing them to learn to overcome their individual weaknesses or fears.
4) Encouragement.. this could be praise, rewards, bonuses; anything that helps them to keep motivated.
5) Honesty... Be straightforward but positive in all of your interactions.
6) Dedication, show that you are serious and will be there to answer questions, and help them learn how to grow.
7) Show them that good honest, sustained effort and a willingness to learn and adapt are the life skills that lead to lasting success!
This approach will build the team and friends that we are all looking for!
