Point out to them that many people spend a good bit of time in SFI before they start to see large returns of money.
Ask them how many active PSAs, CSAs they have. How many PRMs for TripleClicks. Are they advertising for same?
Where are they advertising - online or offline, or both?
Once they start answering your points, then you may be able to see where they may have room for improvement in their techniques or locations. Here would be the time to point out to them some of your most successful ads, and locations.
If they still are determined to quit, point out that if they change their mind, they can come back after 6 months, will start over.
If you feel you have done all within your power to help, mentor, sponsor, tell them you will miss them, then -- let them go. You cannot force them to stay, nor would you want to!
With a clear mind, move on to teaching, leading, the rest of your team...
