Off line classes or seminars would be for PSAs who live in the same country/area. Seminars are meetings that are intended as a learning exercise for the participants and are not a decision making forum. They are usually led by people with expertise in the subject matter under discussion with the objective of educating the attendees.
Once the date and time have been agreed and a meeting location selected, participants must be advised. Prepare an agenda - a clearly established order of business - and send it out ahead of time to help them prepare. Be sure that all participants are clear on the stated purpose for the meeting. Decide how you will measure success.
The meeting area must be arranged so that people will be comfortable and will be able to see and hear each other without difficulty. Ensure there are adequate refreshments and proper bathroom facilities. In order to get the best benefit for everyone, the group should not be too large. One of the best ways would be to have a projector screen and a PowerPoint presentation. Test the equipment before the meeting starts to ensure everyone can be seen and heard.
Show how serious you are about your responsibilities by turning up for it promptly. Try to stick to your agenda and allow enough time for each item. Greet each person by name and provide an opportunity for persons to meet each other. In order to maintain focus, give people something to look at as well as to listen to. For example, when making a presentation with an overhead projector or making a PowerPoint presentation, individuals may like their own copy of the information you are showing on screen, so that they can more easily follow the presentation.
Include a Q and A segment and end on time. Once the seminar has ended try to receive feedback for ideas or suggestions you can include for the next occasion.
