The key to answer this question well, is to know whether you are not just wasting your gift certificates, TCredits and other incentives.
My simple rule of thumb of giving incentives is the long term impact to the over all performance my SFI business and his.
As the saying goes I would rather teach him how to fish rather than giving him fish, because knowing how to fish will have a long term impact. Example, I always teach my PSA's how to find affiliates rather than giving him affiliates. It is economical to me and it has longer effect to his SFI business.
However there are two instance that I am giving away gift certificates and Tcredits.
1. I use is as rewards to those who achieve certain ranks - that is the way I say "thank you" for the income they gave me.
2. I determine if my gift cards wold eventually lead him to longer success. Example; He already have PSA who are active and will be having commission next month. But he needs some points to become EA then I will not hesitate to pass on gift certificate to him.
Yes, we should not teach dependency to our affiliates by "bribing" them with incentives but we empower them to stand up on their own feet, and start duplicating himself. That's the only way to survive here at SFI.
