This is a very important and interesting question and should be a must read for any serious affiliate who does not want to put his eggs in one basket. With the number of inactive PSAs and CSAs increasing daily I think giving offline method of recruitment a trial without jettisoning the online one will be a welcome development.
To answer your question , I will like to use my personal experience which has proven successful for me in the past and still do. Below are the steps to take in order to have a good outing.
1) Get a good venue. One that is easy to locate preferably very close to bus-stop. Ground floors are always better unless where there is a lift because of the elderly ones.
2) Among your your team members select leaders and give them specific assignments- those that will make sure all departments will always be ready for business opportunity meeting (BOM)
3) Create awareness through radio, television , ad in newspapers. Print handbills, flyers. Place banners and well captioned posters at strategic locations like flyovers, bus-stops,churches , schools , local government areas etc.
4) We are in get age so make use of social media- twitter, facebook. LinkedIn ,google+, email etc
5) Make sure you have modern gadgets like projector to aid in passing the information across the audience. Make sure the place is conducive for learning and if you can afford it serve light refreshment.
6) No team member should come to the venue alone. Must come with 3-4 people. Those that are mobile should distribute hand bills at the bus- stop 30 mins before the take of time and also be will to transport interested people to the venue.
7) Divide yourself into groups. Let it not be one man show . One person talk about the company history, another the marketing plan. Getting started, lunch pad .Avoid the mistake of audience asking questions in between teaching . Questions and answer section should come after each segment.
7) Create time for testimonies. This section is very important so visible or tangible things like payoneer MasterCard , things won at the auction like iPad etc must be shown.
8) Time : timing is very important . Time money so give them stuff that will make them look forward to another meeting.
9)Follow up. If you fail here you have failed woefully . To avoid this, names, addresses. Phone numbers and email addresses should be collected for adequate follow up.
10) last but not the least you and your team must be ready nurse those that will register to maturity. Please come down to the level of your audience even if it entails the use of native language use it.
