The best demographic to target is the one you are most comfortable talking to. If you speak their language, use their vernacular and can relate to the issues they face, you have a better chance of them respecting your opinion.
If you want to step out of your comfort zone, start by researching your planned target market.
- Are they internet-savvy?
- Do they have disposable income?
- Are they able to devote time to the opportunity or do they need (or want) to see results yesterday?
- Where do they hang out (social media, cafes, night clubs, etc)?
- Are you capable of conversing in their 'language' (eg, ru gr8 @ txtspk)?
As you ask these questions, your best target will emerge, as will the best way to approach them.
