I have set up an auto responder. How can I determine if my auto responder is working?
You can use key codes to study the impact of any marketing campaign. I would think that auto responders are best used to serve the same purpose as an answering machine. What we are looking for with that process is a quick response/acknowledgment. Automatic acknowledgement that a contact has been initiated by the customer, with this we are talking, from customer to you. This technology is good in terms of taking the place of an answer machine via the internet. That is, auto responders are good for issuing a quick response, but not for fully processing an incident such as a compliant or a question relating to product specifics, or further taking that initial response and processing it to its fullest extent.
I believe the greatest impact comes in the form of personalized services. Sure the auto responder does serve its 24/7 functions, but at some point within the communications process there must be some human-to-human exchanges. It helps not to thing the customer, but instead personalization builds somewhat of a good solid reputation and an enhanced customer relationship, starting with that initial contact. Auto responders will be considered by a large number of customers, at some or the middle stage of the communications process, somewhat cold and unhelpful.
