"What should a new ECA do and not do in their first month?"
In his first month a new ECA should read up on what is involved in being an ECA and read all the FAQs so that he knows how the business works; how to notify that the product has been sent, and how to receive payments, for example. If TripleClicks doesn't know that the order has been filled, you won't get paid for it.
He should upload one product immediately and keep uploading new things periodically, one at a time. This will bring his products and name where affiliates will see his new products when they check their what is new at TripleClicks link every day.
He should periodically put a product up as a Hot Deal just to bring that product and his store back to affiliates' attention.
He should make sure he checks into TripleClicks every day and see if he has any orders or messages to attend to.
He should send messages about new products and specials to all the people who have connected with him.
He should dispatch orders as soon as possible.
What a new ECA should not do is upload everything at once and then have nothing to draw people back to his store to see in the future.
He should also NOT forget to send orders. I think it is a good idea to follow up on my customers and check whether they have actually received the product, because sometimes digital products end up in people's spam folders. They get upset thinking you haven't sent it when you have, and will give you a negative review which is hard to undo.
I hope these ideas will help you as a new ECA and wish you all the best with your venture.
