In a “brick and mortar” business where we see our team members, face-to-face, on a daily basis, we can employ several methods, such as various types of testing, to ensure that they are performing their job in the manner that we wish the job to be done. In the SFI world, because our teams are spread out worldwide, we can’t employ those same methods. Therefore, communication is the big key here.
As a sponsor you need to communicate with your team on a regular basis. For example, send out weekly mails to your team, write a blog on your leadership page and reply to their questions in a timely manner. What I do is send out a weekly mail with tips and advice as to how I am working my business. I also add in anything that I have seen on Stream, Ask SC or the Forum that I feel would benefit them. On my leadership page I will also blog tips and advice, but not all the same information. In addition, if I receive a question from one of my team members that I feel the rest of the team would benefit from the answer, I will post that on my blog.
As a sponsor, you can’t be absolutely positive that your team will follow your lead explicitly. However, by communicating with them regularly, you will know that you have given them the steps they need to follow.
Wishing you much success!
