A short and true account of how I came to discover a healthy online business perspective that online workers should know and consider:
Today, after putting in hours of marketing work for my internet business, I decided to ask my friend to go on a bike ride for some much-needed exercise.
We started out slowly, huffing and puffing up a slight incline. Don't laugh when I tell you that a few minutes of bike riding up a couple of slightly steep hills made me wheeze as if I had just rubbed a cat all over my face!
I had to constantly shout motivating phrases at my friend and myself, such as, "Keep going! We've got this!" as well as, "Don't forget to breathe!"
I had to remember the beautiful destination we were trying to get to, as well as how great I'd feel once we arrived.
As soon as we reached the top of the hill, it was smooth sailing all the way down. We felt as free as birds!
We finally reached the beautiful ocean view. A magnificent sunset drenched the water and sky with its orangey-red glow. Our hard work had paid off!
This is the same mind-set you should have with your online business. It will be rough in the beginning. You'll be wheezing and groaning and you'll have to constantly remind yourself to breathe. Most importantly remember to keep your goal in mind and to remember why you started your business in the first place!
Your business is not just about the money. It is about the money equating to time. You want the money you make with your online business to allow you the freedom to live your life to its fullest. Remember that money is simply paper.
Numbers are merely figures that do not have a physical quality. Money essentially creates opportunities for you to take a scuba diving class, finally visit Italy, buy that expensive sweater that makes you feel on top of the world, or to simply go on a bike ride with a friend to watch a sunset.
So, sit down at your computer, wherever it may be, and work hard! Reach the top of that hill, and then learn all you can about outsourcing to feel like you're flying down that hill without a care! Reach your sunset!
Also, remember that in the midst of all of your virtual hill climbing and destination visualizing, you can still actually get out your rusty bike and pedal to a real sunset with a friend!
Making money is hard work, but it can still be fun and enjoyable if you keep in mind the reason for starting out on this quest in the first place.
What are you waiting for? Get pedaling!
