As I build my downline, what are the common mistakes I need to avoid?
A very interesting and practical question! I have had my own share of mistakes while building my team. But we learn from our mistakes, and mistakes are stepping stones for success.
So, while building your downline, try to avoid the following mistakes:-
. Never wait longer than 24 hours to contact your new PSA. As soon as you received SFI Notification, it’s best to send Welcome E-Card first to establish contact, followed by a short email to start creating a good and strong relationships with your new downline.
. Never presume too much and expect quick result that the new affiliate will go further in the business. He may need some directions and mentoring about performing daily tasks so working closely with him will help him understand the procedures.
. Never overwhelm your downlines with information and unnecessary e-mails, except the required weekly group mail for updating. Take it one step at a time. Have a plan.
. Don’t insist on upgrading or becoming EA if they’re not ready, instead explain the benefits and advantages of having a Standing Order and being an EA.
. Don’t do actions or things that you don’t want your downlines to emulate or copy. Teach duplication properly.
. Teach your downlines to be resourceful and creative, but never ignore any requests for help and information, and give them directions and guidance until they find their way within the SFI system. You want your downlines to be independent and resourceful and able to do things for themselves.
. Encourage downlines to always check their VP Ledgers so they’ll know where to look and what to expect to be done to gain VPs.
. Show your downlines you care by contacting them when they have not logged in for a long period, to see if they're OK.
. Always share valuable tips and information and encourage participation at the Forum and Ask SC and team contests.
. Always acknowledge their effort and recognise accomplishments, no matter how small. Better to have a happy team with high morale as they will be more productive.
. Be professional in your communications and get the details right to gain credibility and respect.
. Don’t waste precious time on unmotivated and skeptics. Instead focus your energy on your Movers.
These are only some of the mistakes I have made myself. You will make your own mistakes, but try to learn from them. Be guided by the SFI Rules of Success. Good luck!
