You have to position yourself as a business that offers solutions to the problems that your customers have. The way this works is simple. Coca-Cola use to have a slogan that said "Have a Coke and a smile." The marketing team made a nice jingle using that slogan so that you would remember that when you are ready for a refreshment - "Have a Coke and a Smile." The whole idea is that drinking Coca-Cola will refresh you and make you happy when you are thirsty. Who doesn't want to be happy? Get it?
Water would would probably quench your thirst just as well as a Coke and it's cheaper and healthier than Coke. But there was no jingle that says drink water and smile. Today Coca-Cola is one of the No.1 selling beverages in the world! So it really boils down to branding and liking. Get your customers to like you.
