The fact that you're asking empowering question(s) means you're on the right path! Building your SFI and TripleClicks businesses, like all businesses, is a process. You'll find that when testing everything in your business that some strategies work well and others do not work well at all. Your challenge is to use the 80/20 rule and keep what works and while discarding what produces unacceptable results. I would suggest:
1) Consider the source(s) of your leads and how each source affects your results. If you find that a high percentage of your Affiliates that do EA the first month don't EA2 the second month then that means they don not have any funds to invest in a business. I recommend you closely examine the demographics of those leads and make some different advertising choices.
2) Use a/b split testing to improve your entire marketing process from the placing of ads to the converting of leads to Affiliates and/or Sales. You may see this referred to as the "sales funnel". You want leads to go into the top of the funnel and sales to come out of the bottom. It's a system!
3) Develop a support strategy that you apply to your business no matter what the level of activity may be at any given point. In other words if you email a weekly newsletter then everyone gets it and not just your active Affiliates. You never know when the time will be right for someone to become active in "their" business.
4) Stress different benefits in your support system to try and wake-up as many different personalities as possible. Some Affiliates are looking for more income, some for more time, some for location freedom and some for all three! There's an old saying that your prospect's radio station is tuned to WIIFM (What's In It For Me).
5) When it comes to product and service marketing the #1 strategy to focus on is learning how to impart the benefits of what you represent in a way that causes your customers to purchase. The bottom-line is that you're in the problem solving business and your customers must believe your product or service will, in fact, solve their problem. If you compete on price alone you'll NEVER survive! Features tell, but benefits sell!
If you use the 80/20 rule, a/b split testing and you develop your own lead and support system then it's not a matter of if it's a matter of when you'll be successful! What are "you" working for: Income, Time or Location Freedom?
