If you can, it is optimal to help the ECA first hand, but it is not necessary. Do not be afraid to invite almost any vendor you use regularly to be an ECA, as the Gateway and instructions are complete and easy to follow. I run a monthly letter/brochure campaign to online vendors that I or my husband purchase from. I add a note about items that I think would sell well on TripleClicks. I also send a gift card, so that they can see how the process works from the buyer's end. This woeks especially well with eBay vendors.
If you are right there, go ahead and help them with the application, and if they have a brick and mortar store, walk around and suggest items that would fit well or fill a vacancy in TripleClicks. If they have large items, be sure to let them know that they can list them as local pickup/delivery only and local pay.
In either case, once they are approved, send them a thank-you note! It gives a professional appearance to you and your business and reminds them that you are always there to help. Also, buy something from them and post their products on your T-Connect page, and let other members know about this great new store!
