Thats an excellent answer, thanks for bringing the topic out.
I do occasional cross comparison shopping. Meaning, I go through the ECA Mart, and Product lists in TripleClicks. I look at products from ECA listings and many other websites to see what the various price differences are. I have observed some lower, and some higher prices, some with no shipping, others with shipping costs at all.
Many ECA's are are willing to listen to customer suggestions. Outlining that you have done some cross comparison shopping for similar products that they list can cause them to take note of your suggestions. If its a particular product or service you want from your ECA, perhaps an inbox to their ECA outlining you would be interested in seeing the product listed, and what comparable prices you have seen would be all it might take in this instance, so its always good to do some homework.
We also must take into consideration the size or ability of the ECA, they may not be able to carry some products due to financial limitations, or other factors. Its good to communicate to work around issues like this in the end.
Many are very approachable while some may not even reply to a suggestion, or request for simple information. But at least you can try.
