I've read a few of the answers to this question and I think many authors are short-sighted. The question is asked about spending "extra" money. That means that it does not have to pay for vp. The sales vp is already paid for. He has met his sales quota for the badge he wants to earn. Otherwise it wouldn't be extra, it would be budgeted.
He is interested in maximizing his money, his efforts, and his SFI Business. Paid advertising is one suggestion. Another is hosting an informational meeting. If he prefers to not have a group of people in his home, then he can rent a room from some business or meet at a restaurant where he would pay for drinks and maybe a tray of finger food or cookies. He would also want to have some marketing aids with him to pass out to the attendees.
Another idea is to buy several of the marketing aids such as brochures, post cards, business cards and mail them to those PSAs who will give him their mailing addresses. You can see what each PSA buys from TC and it does not often include these marketing aids.
A couple or so of each in a business sized envelope would not cost that much. Write them by email when you send it so you are not paying postage for what can be done for free. Tell them that they should use them to illustrate what they are talking about. Tell them to be really sure about who to give them out to because once they are given out, the PSA won't have any more to pass out.
If there is extra money the next month, perhaps a contest could be set up where a whole pack of marketing aids could be won.
