You are a wise marketer by asking this question. You will succeed because of implementing this often neglected BUT very fundamental step and plan in advertising.
Failure to track your advertising is not only a VERY unwise ad strategy but a sure recipe for failure online.
Is is no longer an option. It is NECESSARY that you do so if you want to be successful online. Every successful guru marketer knows and does it all the time.
Having said that. Use SFI key-codes in ALL of your advertising especially those set to track your advertising. The system is able to register a sign up or a PRM etc, or whatever activity you decide to put your tracking efforts into.
To get started go to power tools, tabs and then key-codes and take some time to read and familiar yourself with the instructions and various types of key-codes available
To find those key-codes once you get started look through your Activity Notifications or Genealogy. The instant feedback you get on you advertising helps you know which ad sites are performing well and which ones are throwing your money away.
Examples of key-code advertising
http://www.sfi4.com/xxxxxxxx.12
OR
http:www.sfi4.com/xxxxxxxx.12/FREE (x representing your SFI Affiliate ID)
This works when you are advertising your FREE SFI gateways. The key-code is usually up to 4 numbers which is your key-code for tracking.
A paid ad on Microsoft Bing ads for example would have key-code "12" and another ad on a solo ad advertising would have key-code "13" etc
Please note that only those that garner min 1000 VP'S monthly can use Key-codes by SFI policy.Using key-codes with SFI is the easiest I have found so far cos it's as easy as adding your key-codes to the URL's you are promoting. Nothing complicated
In summery, hit tracking helps you to track multiple ads to the same gateway to help you know the non performers from the performing ads.
After establishing from your tracking results which ads/traffic sources perform best, you can then concentrate most advertising effort in either tweaking your opt-in/squeeze/landing pages if you are using your own or simply concentrate all of your ads spend into the traffic source that performs and converts best and that's a beautiful thing indeed
So don't throw your money away by not tracking....
