Your first mentor is your sponsor. From Day 1 beginning with your welcome letter he/she is in a mentor position.
Many sponsors don't support and offer help to their PSA's. If this is your case, you could initiate the relationship by asking questions, for his advice and for his opinion as often as you need. Also watch out for his emails and make sure his address is whitelisted.
If you are still not getting the help you want, ask him outright to be your mentor and tell him why.
If you are still not getting the mentoring you need, you will have to look to other places such as through the Forum and A2A friends. I read some of your answers and there are good alternatives to using your sponsor, already mentioned.
