Thanks for an excellent question, Emmanuel!
There is nothing wrong with advertising for quantity because there are many diamomnds out there among the rough so to speak. However, you have asked a very good question and it is a question I asked too when I was starting out.
Building relationships are very important to recruiting quality affiliates. While you're out there surfing, it is a very good idea to join in the conversations in the chat columns in traffic exchanges. You cannot give them a link in the chat but once you've found a connection with someone, you can send them a private message inviting them to SFI. Once you have built a relationship with another, you will have gained some trust and that person will be more likely to believe your business is genuine than if they were to just come across your splashpage in the advertising area.
Another approach is to set up a Facebook page and post quality content on it daily. Don't go looking for hundreds of likes from those 'like for like' sites. Be patient and build relationships with other people looking for paid work on-line. You can find tons of pages dedicated to making money online. I suggest frequenting these pages and making comments regularly. You will find that some will like what you say and reply. Try to keep the conversation between you and these people going and when you feel that you have formed a bond through common interests, ask them if they would like to see your page. You will already have things from SFI, TripleClicks & Pricebenders on the page. This will give them the chance to peruse your page and ask questions about this great affiliate program you're with.
These are just a couple of examples. You will have your own but the main point is to build relationships with people both on-line and off-line. Build trust between yourself and your network and this will go a long way to ensure that anyone you recruit in this manner will know through speaking to you that SFI & TripleClicks is a long term business that you need to build like any business.
I hope this goes toward answering your question.
