In response to this question the first thing that came to mind was this saying by Abraham Lincoln, “You can please some of the people some of the time all of the people some of the time some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”
Simple quote but profound especially when you are in any type of leadership role. No matter how hard you try to support, guide or train your team there will always be those that are never satisfied with your efforts. What you may perceive as excellent sponsoring, may be seen as lacking something by others.
It's just like participating in a competition. You may give the best performance of your life but some of the judges don't agree with you and because of their own perception of your performance, you don't win. If you wanted to know what your performance was missing; what would you do? That's right; you would ask the judges. Therefore in the same way, what you need to do is to set aside your own biases and find out from your downline what are the circumstances that they believe justify them in rating you poorly. You might be surprised what you find out. Every affiliate is different and much like a teacher catering to each individual student's needs, as a sponsor you must ascertain which forms of support works best for which affiliates. Granted that some affiliates may make outlandish demands or become dependent on you. It is your job not to enable a laissez-faire attitude towards SFI but rather foster a spirit of hard work and dedication. You may even want to use a reward system to encourage those that are faltering and to celebrate those that are succeeding. Research and use various methods to support your team and stick to those that earn you a more active team.
Please note that even with all your efforts that some people will just genuinely for whatever reason, choose to rate you poorly. Try not to take it personally but instead use it as an added motivator to work even harder at being a great sponsor. You may not be able to please all the members of your downline, but those who truly appreciate your support will reward you with high praise and good ratings. For that fact you should never stop giving your best.
