Simply make them aware that this business is not built overnight but is a marathon they need to stick to and over time it will grow. I typically refer to it as the 3 to 4 year plan, verses the 45 year plan where you work for a paycheck each week and if you fail you don't get a second chance at it. Then you retire and have next to nothing to live on. SFI takes a few years and will return an ongoing residual income for you for the rest of your life. And if you mess it up the first time you can start over today and work on it again. That's the beauty of SFI that even though it takes time to build, it does not take as long as the 45 year plan and so is still a relatively short period of time on comparison to your lifetime.
If we can see the next 5 years as the short term, then we can build SFI. However, if that seems like a long period of time then we have the wrong perspective. The most important thing we need to have is patience and in time we will see our business grow as long as we work on it daily. If we don't show up for work, then what? We don't get a paid right? In order to get paid we simply have to work, this is your business and if you want it to happen you have to make it happen.
