There is more than one thing that has made the difference for me in succeeding with my SFI business. It's taken me over a year of constant and persistent effort on a regular basis to reach Gold Team Leader. The most important thing I do is to treat my SFI as a business.
Persistence is Motivation are also necessary. I reached silver the very first month in the business. That's easy to begin with but much harder to maintain as the months go by. I settled for Bronze Team Leader after that and kept sponsoring PSAs, CSAs, TripleClick Affiliates, and some ECA's. I was motivated to continue by both my upline and myself.
What I found was that only a very fraction of these spondee's ever accomplished anything, despite all the help and motivation that I offered. But I didn't quit!! I kept earning more and more badges and income. I put all the earned income and more back into my business. Why? I knew 5 - 6 leaders like me would come along eventually, and that's all you need. Now, I have two BTLs and some EA2s. I'm going to keep on.
I bought affiliates from the SBuilder, from TripleClicks affiliate sales, free and paid advertising. I use Facebook, twitter, posters, distribution of cards and talking to people face-to-face. I became an ECA myself and did everything I hoped my downline would do. I spent money, time and effort. I treat this SFI opportunity as a business.
