Firstly I would like to clarify that value has nothing to do with how cheap/expensive something is but it has to do with the level of satisfaction/benefit derived from consumption of something be it a good or service.
Value is therefore perceived, and it depends on the person consuming/using the product. I think it is important to sell items that satisfy a certain need of your prospective market/group of customers at a price that is within their affordability.
Most importantly, it is important to identify the needs of your target market, find a solution to their need and therefore price the "solution" affordably for them.
