I think a mixture of inexpensive, medium expensive and expensive will be great to have. We have people at all levels with all kinds of needs and budgets. However, what is more important than the price, is the quality of the goods being sold.
Just recently, a PSA of mine bought a watch from one ECA. The first "no-no" was that the watch was not the one she asked for. Then the clasp would not open. When she wrote to the ECA they asked her to get someone here (a Watchmaker) to open the clasp for her and that they would give her TCredits for it. However, the watch clasp was not opened even by a watchmaker and the ECA wanted her to send it back to them at her expense, (no TCredits given) which she is not willing to do and I don't blame her for it. Alongwith, the ECA kept pestering her to give them a 5 star rating. The point I am trying to make here is that whether a product is cheap or expensive it needs to be a good quality product.
Even if things are cheap, people will buy once - and then never again, because no one wants to pay for what they cannot use. They would rather pay a bit more to get exactly what they ask for - and something that lasts and looks good.
I guess what I am trying to get at is that we need ECAs who take pride in what they are providing and stand behind their products. We need a wide range of goods at ranging prices - but they should be exactly what the customer asked for and of good quality. If they are not what was asked for, then the ECA should check with the customer before sending it to them. Otherwise, all our hard work in getting ECAs will go waste if TC gets a bad reputation for the goods it supplies on demand.
