I am working on this right now myself. Here is what I am doing.
Go to many different search engines, everybody has their own preferences and not all sites will show up on all search engines.
From there I am signing up for everything on the first two or three pages of the search results. I post my ad and make sure I use a different key code for each site. I have a list on paper with each site, the date I first posted my add, and what key code I used for that ad.
After a week or two I intend to weed out any sites that did not produce any results at all and concentrate on the sites I have gotten hits from. Another two weeks and I will weed out the sites that are getting the least results.
This will be somewhat time consuming but I think it will be the best way to insure you are using all the classifieds you can find, and the key code tracking helps you know which sites are working for you.
I also recommend looking at the text based ads SFI has made available in the marketing section of this site. Also they have several banners, some of which are small in size. Save one or two to your hard drive and upload them to the sites that allow you a picture. The leaders at SFI have figured out what works, it is up to us to practice duplication of the methods they have already put into practice.
One last thing, as you type in your searches try to use different wording options. Search like you where looking to find an opportunity, not share one, because that is what the people who are looking will type in.
I hope this helps.
