When you first build your website, Google will not know anything about your site. Google will then give your site a ranking based on the quality of your contents and backlinks pointing to your site.
When building your website or blog for the first time it is important that your content and domain name be based on Theme and Category keywords. Keyword research is necessary and should be based on how many searches per day the keyword is receiving and the number of competing pages targeting a specific keyword. It would be best to use a good keyword research tools available in the market for your keyword research.
Ones you have set up your website or blog you will need to perform backlinks, that is leaving your link at other sites pointing back to your own site, without spamming. One way to achieve this is by contributing high quality articles to a high PR authority sites and leave a link of your site at the Author signature box. Another way is to include keyword phrase (Anchor Text) in your articles and use that keyword phrase as backlink pointing to your own site and submit your articles to the high PR authority sites. In this process the Anchor text would usually appear highlighted in blue or underlined. Other ways to achieve backlink is by posting constructive comments on other people’s blogs.
The more content you add to your site and the more backlinks you have pointing back to your site, the more ranking you will achieve. Google and other search engines will come and look at your site and backlinks, it will then reassess your position and hopefully move up your search ranking.
Each time Google pays your site a visit it will evaluate and try to determine which search term your site should appear and will also determinate if your keyword term is relevant. If the keyword is relevant to what people type on Google search, your site will appear high on search results and if its not relevant it will appear low. The key issue here is to select good relevant keywords based on the number of searches per day (more than 80 searches per day) and the number of competing pages targeting the same keyword (less than 30,000 competing pages). If the keyword is relevant and all other sites think its relevant then your site will rank high based on your keyword phrase.
When it comes to anyone finding your site on Google, one can also opt to outsource for articles and SEO services to individuals or companies that provide such services for the purpose of achieving high Google ranking and thus for your site to be found easily.
