For me too much may also have to depend on certain factors. The problem with a down line is that they may not necessarily be the same class or joined the same time and so being in different needs at the same time when you are trying to communicate with them maybe as a group. For affiliates who have just joined and are inexperienced newbies, it may be necessary to frequent them as some maybe facing real hardships like failing to see where to get versa points, having too much information to absorb and feeling overwhelmed and might need constant encouragement and direction before they quit however on the same note, some join SFI with prior knowledge and experience with online marketing and may therefore find you sort of disturbing if not intruding, let alone the fact that you may have joined SFI a couple of months ago and have very little knowledge yourself than they.As much as we do not want anyone feeling like you are annoying we also do not want anyone feeling like they are neglected and ignored so they can stay motivated.
The unnecessary part largely depends on the contents than the frequency. It may be more professional in approach to have one PSA/CSA mailers per week, strictly for SFI business encouragement, and other forums like a2a , stream etc may have a flair of a little humour sometimes to cheer up and keep the affiliates motivated. Also I am not sure where the mailer says send to _affiliates ,if there is an option to send to individuals, welcoming and or congratulating them because that may be unnecessary to the rest of the group and they may find it absolutely unnecessary and preferring to receive something more attached ,binding or referring to them directly as an affiliate. Wisdom and discretion is needed in balancing the two and keeping all your affiliates feeling attended and maybe satisfied. If your down line is a big list you may find it strenuous and time-consuming but if the list is bit smaller and manageable you may then be able to handle it and even communicate one-to-one to find out how much they need of your help and then chip in where necessary....
