This is a very timely question, because website or blog is now playing big role in SFI marketing and those who don't have one yet I strongly encourage you to have one.
Majority of the major social networks like FaceBook are no longer accepting majority of our gateways (links) from SFI. This is the reason why we need website or blog.
The second reason is to have free signups when the search engines (like google, bing and yahoo)started to notice our website/blog.
If you can not do it yourself, there are ECA's who can do them for you for very reasonable price.
Those who can do it yourself here are my tips in how to make it useful for SFI marketing.
1. On the design aspect:
a. Make your topmost section as your splash page. That when someone go to your blog/website they will be invited to join SFI immediately. You can also make this a separate page, but lessening the number of clicks will help your visitor. - This is called accessibility. Important information must be accessible upfront.
b. The middle part. That's where you can put the normal content of your website/blog. Which will include your posting, some videos and banners.
c. The bottom part - you can use them to put some other ads to your other internet program that support your SFI business.
2. On Cost:
Minimize cost by avoiding recurring monthly charges on hosting. Use Blogger or Wordpress to build your site then if you want a dot.com address just buy a domain and direct it to you website/blog.
3. On Search Engine.
Always put original and useful content and post content regularly. Content is still the king for search engine. You can read some SEO techniques but never compromise on content.
I am willing to help. You can me later when our names are revealed.
