David,
We have all been there. Even me! Every time you go into a situation that doesn’t go as you expected you experience rejection. This leaves a feeling of being inadequate. It can be mentally draining even for an experienced businessman.
Recognize that the person is not rejecting you. Rejection is the person opinion. Accept that person’s opinion at that time. Realize that sometimes rejection is the result of people’s inability to see your point or just plain ignorance - a flaw within them, not you.
The most successful people in sales learn to overcome rejection. A ‘No’ simply means ‘No’. It does not mean they don’t like you and it certainly does not mean they will not join your team at another time. Focus on going through more potential clients. Whether they say yes or no is not under your control. Put the ‘No’s in your favour and approach enough people until someone says 'yes'.
In order to get one 'yes' you may have to face 50 or even 100 'No's. You can say it’s a numbers game. It may be to just move on to another individual. You can approach the same person at another time, as their circumstances may have changed.
You can make the choice to overcome rejection, Value your quality and focus on your strengths.
Be convinced of your business and look at areas where you have even more potential to achieve success. Believe in something larger than you - SFI, the larger picture. You belong to a large family of affiliates. You are not alone!
I once read that ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ are Siamese twins. You must go through the ‘Nos’ to be successful. The road to success is paired with failure. When you have made your successful team, no one will brother with the number of rejections you had. Not even you!
Now, if you ever get emotional over a rejection just remember we all at SFI love you and appreciate you being a part of our team. We are a big family. You can count on any one of us, your a2a friends, your upline, your budding affiliate to give support and encouragement. Look at rejection as an opportunity to grow. Use it as a stepping stone to move on rather than a stumbling block.
All the best, my friend.
