Writing a good welcome letter is going to be a little different for every person, as every person is a little different. You want your letter to tell the new person about how to make the business work, but you also want it to tell them just a little bit about who you are. If you are the sort of person who is always cracking jokes maybe you will put a joke or two in your welcome letter. If you are more detail oriented your letter will be full of details.
Make sure to tell them how you think they should start off, and maybe a few examples of the reading materials that you have found helpful (yes this might mean re-reading the getting started material, it could be useful for you as well as your new people give it a shot)
Also you should update your welcome letter on a monthly basis. Your idea of what is important is going to shift somewhat as you move up in this business, your welcome letter should always reflect that.
Last but not least be genuine. You are involved in this business because something about it has spoken to you. Make sure this something is what you talk about, don’t try to play up portions of the business you do not understand or believe in because ultimately that will come off as fake and that is the last thing you want to be.
Hope some of this helps,
Remember the only way to fail is to stop trying!
