As happens with many MLM or Network Marketing businesses, family members will generally have a negative opinion( especially in the US), based on rumors and a mis informed understanding of the business. Many times they are closed minded because they feel they are "looking out" for your best interests. Convincing them otherwise can be difficult and they will try to talk you out of it.
Most family members do have your best interests in mind, but they just do not know the truth about how the business works. At the same time, you have this great opportunity and want to share your good fortune with your family. That is admirable and should be approached carefully so that you do not alienate anyone by being too aggressive.
