This is a very good question. It may or may not be but depends.
There are two sides to this question and that is a negative side and a positive side. On the positive side I would say yes and that is based on the relationship that exist. We could work as a team and have a common goal. The support could be far reaching. If we all understand that our success in SFI calls for hard work dedication then we could put resources together. Also it could be easier to keep in touch with a family members and keep then on track. In the case where they may be in a different location they could build a team on their end and we all could benefit.
On the negative side, family members surprisingly might do everything in their power to sabotage your plans for personal reasons. They may be sceptics and consider your plan foolish and may even doubt the credibility of SFI and discourage you. Also in the case of a spouse it may not be such a good idea because it may seem like you all are competing against each other and that could bring tension rather you could just solicit the support of your spouse in all aspects. As long as he/she understands and sees the benefit you will be guaranteed to have that support.
