When I read this question, the first thing that I immediately thought of is how well does leadership practice show congruence with words and actions.
This simply means that a leader will say with spoken words and/or typed will need to be the same as what is performed...."talk the walk".
If actions are not the same as what is stated then it is hard to trust anyone even a leader.
So I personally believe trust is built on how well a person/leader is aligned with the things that are said and things that are done. When these two behaviours are the same then people will trust the leader.
