Before you can target the groups you have to find them or build them on your social sites. You can find groups by:
1. Googling your passions, then joining the group and being an active member.
2. Set up groups in facebook, pinterest, linkedin and any other social site, that meet your interests and become an involved owner.
3. Use Traffic Exchanges and watch for free advertising there. You can advertise anything from joining SFI to product pages.
4. Join local groups in your city or area that share your interests.
After you find the groups and have become involved, then you can use your advertising as part of your signature, you can contact individual members because you will have their information, you can send a batch email to those you feel might be responsive.
Ways you can target them:
1. Individual emails since you have their email. The more personal your message the better the response.
2. As the moderator or owner of the group, draft frequent messages or Tweets that fit the object you are promoting.
3. Splash and Capture pages on your personal website can work for large groups.
4. Write new items and articles about your ideas and passions.
5. Don't forget to respond to anything they may write or say. When you have built up respect and confidence in you, your advertising methods will be much more productive.
6. Since groups may be very specific or varied depending on the members, being responsive to their needs and ideas will allow your the opportunity to target your advertising naturally.
