I believe your goal in setting up an autoresponder on your website is to get quality affiliates to sign up under you in SFI eventually.
The nature of your website's business is very important as to how you will set up the follow-up emails in the autoresponder. This is because the leads that you have in your autoresponder have either signed up with you expecting a newsletter for certain information or through a squeeze page you have set up.
Your follow-up emails should be related to what you promised in your newsletter and squeeze pages. If it is totally unrelated, you will get a high percentage of opt-outs and some disgruntled visitors may boycott your website altogether.
The best follow-up emails I have read personally from signing up with other programs' squeeze pages are usually witty, humourous and short with a link to a video message or a longer article. It feels much more personalised if you can see a person talking to you directly. If you find it too daunting to record a video message, placing a photo as part of your signature helps to personalise it as well. The link also gives them a choice to read more if they are interested instead of throwing a whole bunch of information in the follow-up emails which usually end up deleted.
Make sure to include information of your own successes in SFI and talk about memorable milestones you have reached in the past in SFI.
If you have signed up with other programs' autoresponders, try and study which ones you like the most and are more likely to become their customers. List out exactly what makes their emails so attractive and try to incorporate them into your own. Just be sure your information is not misleading and untrue.
Good luck with your autoresponder and I wish you success in getting quality affiliates!
