I'm assuming you mean negativity when pitching the opportunity. To a large degree the negative person is probably pessimistic and will most likely remain that way. Any change has to come from them. It could be that they are not ready for this type of business and if they have a lot of negative comments or feelings you're probably not going to say the magic word and walla, they are EA or TL.
Offer words of encouragement, perhaps relate to your own experience if appropriate and you might just ask. What do you really think about it? I've had people look at me with that "I just told you" look! But after they went home and thought about things, they realized it wasn't SFI but other personal issues that made them so negative.
Be kind and encouraging but don't waste a lot of effort on them. Negative personalities are quite difficult to deal with and you're not going to change them. If they are negative to you, you can imagine how great they will be at pitching the business opportunity.
Sales and marketing are not a walk in the park. It's not for everyone. Work with those who want to succeed and are taking actions to do so. If they are negative try to help, but don't waste time you could be spending with others who really want to succeed.
Really, you can help all you want, but if a person does not have the drive, attitude, persistence and pride needed, they are defeated before they begin.
The most important thing is that you stay positive. Don't let the negativity ruin your day. Know when to hold em, know when to fold em.
